« Season #51 2019-2020 »

April 20, 2020 Kanata Theatre today announced that it has made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of its 2019-2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Effective immediately, the two remaining shows of the season “Quartet” and “Opening Night” are suspended and the Board is looking at potential opportunities to re-schedule. As well, the KYOS show, “Honk! Jr.” and all scheduled rentals at Ron Maslin Playhouse are also cancelled. A decision on how the 2020-2021 season will roll-out will be taken by the Board of Directors, in consultation with directors of the scheduled shows, over the next couple of months. “This marks the first time in its 51 year history that Kanata Theatre has had to cancel all or part of a season,” said Cameron Bishop, Director of Publicity for Kanata Theatre, “However, it is necessary given the ongoing public health prohibitions on mass gatherings and the need to ensure the safety and health of all volunteers, cast & crew members and our patrons”.
